What's the difference between Adult Family Homes (AFH) vs Assisted Living Facilities (ALF)?

Adult Family Homes provide care to elderly residents who are having difficulties to do their own Activities of Daily Living (ADL), i.e. bathing, walking, toileting, taking medication, etc. AFHs are usually single family homes that have been modified to meet the Washington Administrative Code (WAC) standards to ensure the home is physically equipped with accessibility support to take care the elderly residents. Most of Adult Family Homes do not have daily social activities.

Assisted Living Facilities mostly only accept residents who are still independent, meaning the residents can still do their own ADLs, and the facilities mainly focuses on the daily social activities for their residents, i.e game, movie, yoga, going to grocery store, etc. When a resident's condition worsen and requires more care, the facility will request the resident to hire a third party one-on-one care because the facility won't be able to meet the resident's needs. When the resident's condition worsens further and the one-on-one care is no longer sufficient, the facility will usually request the resident to move out of the facility (usually into an adult family home).

What is your monthly rate?

Our monthly rate depends on individual resident's level of care. We will need to obtain more information about the resident's condition to determine the level of care. We charge monthly flat fee with no hidden charges.

Do you have a nurse on-site?

Loving Care AFH is owned by Wenny, who is a Registered Nurse. She's reachable 24/7

What level of care do you provide?

We provide care from independent-level care all the way to end-of-life care

What are your visiting hours?

Our visiting hours are between 9am-5pm everyday
